Taste, Tales and Flavor: Hallacas

Taste, Tales and Flavor: Hallacas

Now that the holidays and Christmas dinners are near, we invite you to learn about and prepare something from the American continent: a Venezuelan dish called hallaca, which goes back to the colonial era and brings a fusion of flavors to the table.

In this workshop you will learn about the history of the dish, prepare it and then eat it. You will take part in all the steps needed to prepare hallaca: kneading, stuffing, decorating and wrapping the dough in a plantain leaf. This gastronomic tradition is synonimous with gatherings. It isn’t just a simple combination of ingredients, but also one of accents, music and flavors.
